1. Exploitative Practices — Concept

An exploitative practice is any use of a natural resource faster than it can regenerate — extraction beyond the sustainable yield. It is the root cause behind pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change.

Idea (Garrett Hardin, 1968): when a resource is shared and open-access, each user maximises personal gain, but the collective over-use ruins the resource for all.

2. Deforestation & Forest Degradation

Deforestation is permanent removal of forest for other land use; degradation is a decline in forest quality/density without full clearance.

4. Mining & Sand Mining
