UPSC Trap: A Biosphere Reserve is NOT the same as a single National Park — a biosphere reserve is a much larger, multi-zone landscape unit that typically CONTAINS one or more National Parks/Sanctuaries within its core zone, alongside buffer and transition zones with permitted human activity.

5. Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme

UNESCO's Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme, launched in 1971, is an intergovernmental scientific programme promoting sustainable relationships between people and their environments, through its World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR).
