Silambam is the flagship Tamil weapon art — a long bamboo staff whirled and struck at high speed; it is recognised as a sport with organised federations and is spreading internationally.
Varma Kalai centres on the 108 varmam (vital) points — the same dual "injure and heal" logic as Kerala's marma, reflecting a shared Dravidian body-science.

Huyen Langlon ("knowledge of war") is Manipur's overarching martial system with two wings: Thang-Ta (armed — sword & spear) and Sarit Sarak (unarmed).
